Cup shortening |
|

Cup white sugar |

Eggs, beaten |

1 1/2 |
Cups all purpose flour |

1 1/2 |
Tsp baking powder |

1/4 |
Tsp salt |
|
|
1/2 |
Cup milk |
|

|
Grated rind of 1 lemon |
|
|
|
(Pecans optional) |
|
|
|
|
|
|
Mix shortening &
sugar, add eggs and mix well. |

Add baking powder &
salt to flour and |
|
|
|
add alternately to mixture with milk. |
|
|
|
Add grated rind of lemon. |
|
|
|
Mix and put into loaf
pan. |
|
|
|
Bake 45 to 50 minutes in
350 degree F oven. |

|
|
|
|
Glaze;
Squeeze lemon and add to 1/4 cup sugar. Let dissolve. |
|
|
|
|
Take
loaf out of oven, poke holes and spoon glaze over. |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
